Keri's Story

Inspired by the beauty life has to offer, and fueled by the passionate love within her own heart, Keri began practicing yoga in her early teens.  She is an experienced registered yoga teacher (E-RYT) with Yoga Alliance as well as a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider® (YACEP)®.

During the summer of 2004, she had the Blessed opportunity of studying in Tibet and China where her interest in Hinduism and Buddhism truly flourished. Dedicated to discover more about Yoga, in 2005, she underwent a Jivamukti Yoga® training with her teachers, Sharon Gannon and David Life. Intrigued to discover more about life and her Self, in 2006, she traveled to India to explore first hand, the wonder of Indian philosophies and practices.

Passionate to share the wisdom she gained through her training and traveling experiences, she incorporated this knowledge through her undergraduate honors thesis at the University of Vermont.  She co-created and co-taught Yogic Environmental Philosophy during the fall of 2006, a class rooted in the intersection of yoga and environmental awareness.  She furthered her academic path with a Master's in Religion and Nature from the University of Florida, where she wrote a thesis entitled: "Contemplating Modern Ecological Yoga: Wild Practices for the Preservation of the World." Additionally, in 2015, Keri obtained a Master's/Specialist degree (MEd/EdS) in Mental Health Counseling, and in 2018, a PhD in Counseling and Counselor Education also from the University of Florida. Appreciative for these opportunities she continues to blend together her passions for both yoga, mental health, and ecological wisdom, in each of her offerings.

In addition to her foremost teachers, Sharon Gannon and David Life, Keri has had the honor of studying with many contemporary teachers--Shiva Rea; Seane Corn, Hala Khouri, and Suzanne Sterling with Off the Mat, Into the World; Chelsea Roff with Eat, Breathe, Thrive; Brock & Krista Cahill; David Williams; Kathy McNames; Sofi Dillof; and Duncan Wong.

In her classes, Keri weaves together traditional yoga philosophy with devotion, sacred texts, Sanskrit chanting, uplifting music, and dynamic sequencing.  Her goal is to inspire students to honor the present moment and their natural connection to the elemental world in a joyful and supportive way, providing students with a heart-opening and refreshing experience.

Keri is grateful for the continuous love and support of her family and friends; especially to her beloved soul sister for finding her again in this life, and reintroducing her to the sacred teachings of yoga. To her parents, who are always there to support her through the ebb and flow of life. And to her brother who teaches her about the playfulness of life. Keri humbly bows down to the lotus feet of her foremost teachers, Sharon Gannon and David Life, for offering the ancient teachings of Yoga, while inspiring her to share them with all willing individuals. Keri welcomes all practitioners to come and share the sacredness of yoga.
